There are several statues called "Touchdown Jesus". There used to be one made of butter. But my favorite is at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana, USA. It's not a statue, it's a mural, attached to the wall of the Hesburgh Library. Quite Byzantine for a Roman Catholic college. Its real name is "The Word of Life" referring to Christ as a great teacher.

He's called "Touchdown Jesus" by campus and locals because you can see all 132 feet of him rising over the north end zone of the football stadium. And folks at Notre Dame take football seriously!
There's a nice urban legend (I may have started it, I don't remember...) that since the library went up in 1963, tornadoes have jumped over the St. Joseph valley, missing South Bend. Not true -- I remember one touching down while I was home from college, although it did almost no damage. The last big tornado breakout I know about was in April of 1962, though, so there's your urban legend. Maybe it provides enough protection to keep damage to a minimum?
By the way, it doesn't feel like autumn at all -- very hot and humid right now in the Hill Country. But this is like playing Windham Hill Solstice CDs in summer. Just a little hint for Mother Nature....
